When the health inspector puts the Krusty Krab under quarantine, SpongeBob, Patrick, Squidward, Mr. Krabs, Pearl, and Mrs. Puff go crazy trying to figure out who has the illness.
A crate of fortune cookies falls into SpongeBob’s backyard. He shares them with Mr. Krabs, who finds that all the fortunes magically come true. To sabotage his business, Plankton begins writing insulting and negative fortunes, culminating in a death threat against Krabs unless he gives up the formula.
Stressed out from work, Mr. Krabs takes a break from managing the Krusty Krab and hires Larry. Larry proceeds to turn the Krusty Krab into a gym, upsetting SpongeBob, who teams up with other customers to remind Larry how good Krabby Patties taste.
Larry the Lobster opens a gym. SpongeBob is determined to become stronger, but ends up so muscular that he cannot work properly, while Larry is overwhelmed by amounts of paperwork and is unable to exercise.
Le Big Switch: After being enrolled in a chef exchange program, SpongeBob switches places with a snooty French chef from a high-end restaurant.
Patrick gets addicted to reading after spending time in SpongeBob’s library; however, he gets so smart that his brain gets stuck in the library’s doorway. SpongeBob tries to find a way to shrink Patrick’s brain back to normal.
SpongeBob’s milkshake license has expired, so he enrolls in the militaristic Milkshake Academy to renew it.
SpongeBob and Patrick buy life insurance, and believe that it means they cannot get injured. A series of lucky coincidences convinces Squidward as well. When Mr. Krabs explains what life insurance really means, SpongeBob and Patrick try to tell Squidward as he attempts a dangerous obstacle course.
Life of Crime: Mr. Krabs tells SpongeBob and Pat that it’s okay to borrow things if you plan to return them one day. SpongeBob is instructed to clean up Mrs. Puff’s lighthouse, and finds a snail he names Louie. Louie attacks SpongeBob and sends the lighthouse rolling across town. When it comes to a stop, SpongeBob finds that Louie is a mother living in the lighthouse with her babies.
Squidward discovers SpongeBob’s diary, and reads it to the customers of the Krusty Krab. SpongeBob is devastated, and Squidward is shunned by the town for invading his privacy.
Mr. Krabs sends SpongeBob into the Krusty Krab’s underground lost-and-found to find a child’s missing toy. There, he meets a group of old people who have gotten lost years ago.
SpongeBob tries to take a shortcut to work, but ends up lost in the bad side of town.
Squidward gets ready to go out on a date and SpongeBob assists him with a “practice date.”
To earn some money and hang out with her friends, Pearl looks for a job at the mall. The only store that is hiring — Grandma’s Apron, which is oriented towards elderly women — is unpopular with her friends.
Man Ray rents Squidward’s house for the weekend. Despite Man Ray’s peaceful intentions, SpongeBob and Patrick provoke him and start a fight using objects in Squidward’s house. When Squidward returns from vacation, his house crumbles from the damage caused to it in the fight.
Mr. Krabs meets and falls in love with an anthropomorphic pile of cash named Cashina. Unknown to Mr. Krabs, Cashina is actually a robot piloted by Plankton who intends to scam Mr. Krabs into giving him the Krabby Patty secret formula.
Mermaidman and Barnacleboy: Watching their favorite show, reruns of the TV duo superhero show Mermaidman and Barnacleboy, SpongeBob and Patrick hear that their beloved heroes are living in a nearby retirement home. The aging superheroes discover their toughest challenge yet will be SpongeBob and Patrick, who have decided the duo must come out of retirement.
